Dr. Spohr employs the music of and narration from the lived experiences of Black European composers from the 16th to 19th century, such as Vicente Lusitano, the Chevalier de Saint-Georges, Ignatius Sancho, and Thomas Emidy, to shed light on the rich contributions of Black people to European culture.
